Water Damage – Lafayette Kitchen

Water damage at this Lafayette home’s kitchen severely damaged the attic, insulation, and ceiling. As the before photo shows, the ceiling collapsed onto the floor of the kitchen. SERVPRO of Lafayette / Louisville was called in to clean up the water damage mess. We began by tearing out the damaged building materials and disposing of them properly. Then we extracted the water from the kitchen floor while simultaneously locating and repairing the roof damage that led to the initial problem. Next, we set up a containment area before cleaning the roofing trusses and attic. We treated the affected area with an antimicrobial to inhibit future mold growth that might develop. Once all the affected areas were dried and treated the ceiling was rebuilt, and the kitchen was ready to serve the family again.
